We have really struggled with both our daughters having HLH. It’s been a really crazy time. Lauren, our older daughter, just relapsed a couple weeks ago. I’m pretty sure we won’t be doing BMT with her. She is disabled from the years of this disease without know what she had.
My husband was laid off before Katie went to her Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) It actually was a blessing in disguise because Katie and I had to live in Phoenix for so long and someone needed to take care of Lauren. Then when we came home my husband’s health started to go downhill. He had prostate cancer and finally had surgery in March of this year. He is still struggling with getting his health back. Then Lauren relapsed. I’ve been working as a part time scheduler for an A/C company. We struggle to make ends meet but we continue to try and remain positive. I’m sure someday this will get better.
On July 8th Lauren unfortunately passed away from a lifelong hard battle of HLH.
